Whe she/he fans are the tail feathers pointy in the center or round
here is an example
it looks like a hen but hard to tell just by looking at the photo.

all these peas were under a year when these photos were taken. notice how round these hens tail feathers are

Yeah, I say girl. There are just certain things you can see on them.
I hope to hatch some whites this year, though I do not plan to keep any. It is good to learn from you all though! This has been a great conversation and learning experience!

Kathy, all I could do was laugh when I read your post. You keep me going girl. Well, either way male or female, I'm happy for my white pea. Now I can look forward to eggs and more white babies. I'm still happy. Now, it's just to break the news to her as far as why I have been treating her like a boy and calling her "Prince". Perhaps I can tell her that Prince is short for "Princess"?

Thank you. I say the same thing. I'm hoping for more white. Today is HER birthday. She made 1 year old today, so I guess I'll see eggs next year.

I do enjoy reading this thread and the Peafowl section here in general.
I enjoy getting my Peafowl Today magazines but suck up the short articles and info in about 5 minutes. So here I am every day reading what you all post and getting my pea fix! LOL
I wish everyone here was a member of the UPA so it could have a lot more input. Everyone on here seems awesome! I learn tons from you all!

I'll tell her you said Happy Birthday.

I think I will make something special for them today. Perhaps a cake? Fruit Basket? I'll come up with something. I will see if she will let me put a Happy Birthday party hat on her head and take a pic. If she does, I will take a pic and post it of her.

I go to the other pea forum but not a lot of conversation over there. :/
