Show off your Peas!

He said something like that.

He probably should, but if he hasn't cleaned his incubator I doubt anything will hatch in it.

I would say just about anything made out of Styrofoam would need replacing after 5 years if used regularly

heck i read the wafers should be replaced ever couple years, i know i have an 20 year old hovabator and the wafer corroded just sitting in the spare room, i cleaned it and it still worked but would not keep proper temps.

We are on a well and have high iron content in our water at times, mine would get stained from the iron after a season of use and makes it look orange when we are in a drought here

Quote: I think they make inserts for some of the styrofoam bators, that might be an option?

We're also on well water. Not sure about iron, but anything we put water in on a regular basis gets a build up of calcium, so I use distilled water in my incubator.

Yea i have had those also they do not lat long back then don't know about now days but i only use a stiro when i have big orders and need an extra hatcher for smaller orders .
Heck the old one i have has windows that are covered with laminate kinda plastic and it is also round. i will have to dig it out and take a photo of may be way older than 20 years it was given to me , i don't even remember who gave it to me now that i think about it.

This is Dinky she gets special treatment because she is so tiny compared to other babies this age, i really like this wee one and will be keeping her as i did not think this egg would make it to hatch as it was smaller than the normal pea egg and i thought it was from last years hatch, but to my surprise she developed and hatched on her own

Dinky's so cute!
Hey Zaz, have you been giving her a lot of egg? I've been giving our Runty mealworms but I'm a little worried about giving her too much protein, I know it can cause leg problems. How do you know how much you can give her? I want to be sure I don't do any harm to our little cutie...
