Some pics from today:

Amtrak & Acela (wish I knew boys or girls)! guess time will tell --

Burtis - anybody care to take a guess as to what he is going to be? He was born bright yellow but has been changing colors ever since -

My adult boys -- Romeo & D'artagnan - -both will be 3 years old in June of 2013 - I think they are going to be beautiful!

Sorry I had to take pics through the fence - if I go inside, they are all over me & all I can get are closeups of beaks!

It came from a red oak, we have tons of them here as well as white oak.
White oaks are my favorite of all trees, i love to climb them, and i still do, i have 2 favorites here that give me a wonderful view of wildlife.
We love our live oaks here - we have several different kinds.
That wood almost looks like cypress -- it is a beautiful grain!

Oh & yes!!! -- I am 56 now, but still like to climb trees!

I know. 30-odd years ago, when we built our home, we went down the road to where an old plantation home used to be -- still had the bare bones of the mansion there -- we dug up oak saplings from the front yard where they still had century old trees, & transplanted them to our place. I got the worst case of poison ivy from that project! but we have several beautiful oak trees in our yard now. The interstate highway took the original site years ago, so nothing remains from there now.

Last time I climbed a tree, it was to get my favorite hen from the jaws of a coon. I woke up in the ER room, two hours later and was told that I had the following: punctured lung, broken wrist, collarbone, scapula, most ribs and several thoracic vertebrae. No more trees or ladders for me, lol.

Now see you forgot how to climb a tree and stay in it silly you should have practiced more

I am JK it does sound very painful what ya went threw, i would have left the chicken and coon alone and just rescued whatever fell out of the tree cause one of my dogs would be there to catch it no dought, they don't miss much around here.

Earler today i was walking to my garden and all of a sudden i heard a scream, i looked up and say my cat falling from a pine tree, she stood there for a second as i started running over to see what was going on and forgot about 6 dogs that heard the cat also poor thing took off in the woods, got over there to find she had apperently been on a rotten limb and it broke sending her to the ground, she came up to eat so she is ok but i felt sorry for her having to take off in a dead run after falling but hey that is why the bob cat does not get her.
