i didnt get the birds....he was to difficult to deal with....at first i only wanted to get the ib older hen...then he wouldnt sell them to me unless i bought them all...then when i told him i would buy them all then he wanted to sell all his pheasants with them....i was like sorry i cant buy your entire flock...if he wanted to get rid of them he would have....im sure thats the reason he still has them all sitting at his house...i even told him that i was getting other peafowl that day and could pick up his birds and he just didnt want to budge...but oh well found other ones....that same day...that were older...so those ones will be breeding this season

question....i have a 2013 ib pied pair will they breed this season or are they going to be another year older...?

General consensus is that if a 2 yr. male has some eyes in his train he will likely be fertile. 2 yr. hens will usually lay some eggs, but not nearly as many as a 3 yr. old. I have 3 hens coming 2 and I am curious to see who lays what, last 2 yr. hen I had laid one clutch of 6 and that was it for the year.

I agree that you most likely will get some fertile eggs out of it if he shows eye feathers. My young in the past were fertile at 2 but the females didnt produce as many eggs for me as later on.

very eggggsited to hear that...that means the pieds i just got should have some eggs....this season...im super pumped....scoot if you need any birds when i hatch just let me know....since your right around the corner....

Oh trust me I plan to stay in the loop on all your birds. Your raising everything I like lol. I plan to get back into some of the pheasants again sometime as well. I am happy as heck that your not far away lol.
