I think think the yellow comes from the oil gland just above their tails, that they use to preen with. It is brighter or paler depending largely on the proteins they get, I'm not sure corn would affect that or not. I remember someone posting about a white peacock that was kept with flamingos (or rather, the pea stayed in that enclosure by choice at the zoo) and ate the things the flamingos ate, and the pea was really yellow.

Is your White a male or female and how old is he? I'm already loving Ice! He's friendly, sure when I try to grab him he kind of runs but when I touch his shoulders he stops and just stands. I can't wait for him to get a train! I got my new camera so I decided to try it out.

Is he pure green? Anyway, all the males offspring will be spalding split cameo, and all the hens will be just spalding.

Nope he is not , but have high percentage of green blood , his face have lil blue color now ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, anyhow i like this bird ( green blood cameo ) really admire me , is it possible cross b/w mine and cameo peahen will breed like that

If he allows you to touch his shoulders he may very well be an imprinted bird. The only ones I've ever had that were like that are the imprinted ones.

It will take many years to get a bird like this, but you can do it faster if you start with a spalding cameo male and a pure green hen. When you breed your male with cameo hen their males off spring will be spalding split cameo and the daughters will be just spalding not split to anything, then you will need to mate these split cameo males with cameo hens to get cameo chicks.

I hope he stays black. His dad is mainly black but has brown hair on his underbelly. I hope Gun Smoke stay this way or go black. Not sure what he will look like.
