Show off your Peas!

Great Pictures, Zaz why did you get rid of Chickens and Guineas?
Mini Great Shots, I would love to see more of your pen, Looks nice and looks big also.
Blue, Same here Pheasants are outside all day.

My guineas are all out running around and I do mean running. My peafowl are glad to have some peace with the guineas out! They are in their house and won't come out! This is the first nice day we have had in 2 weeks. Relatively speaking that is.

Thats funny about the guineas Margaret Thanks yall Ill add them at the same time. I tried at first to add goldilocks to the younger boy when I first got her...Nope. Im really lucky it worked even in the big pen as most males dont take kindly to a girl popping up in their territory or its a rape or both. Great pics Zaz. I really like that last one. I caught that little guenea beak too Blue creek. lol! A couple of days ago my sons roommate talked to a person trying to give away a pair of beautiful black-shoulders.(He texted me some pics) I must say I was tempted to get them just to eat . But in my heart I just couldnt do it. They were too hot looking to gobble and hope and pray maybe he found them a good deserving home.

Boy if I was in the country I would love to have had that pair. Stunning! But the good news is now we have 3 chickens (2RIR and one americana x maran) next door because the boys want eggs.

I am also pushing towards having less chickens. They are already moved out of their old pen and only a few will stay for next year. But will keep Mille Fleur Bantam Cochins for broodies. I like peafowl, pheasants, and ducks a whole lot more. It just comes down to personal preference.

Yikes destinduck! How dare such a thought come into your head! I am sure people have tried peafowl, but that is something I cannot imagine doing. I also hope they found a good home, that is something I always worry about when selling birds.

I still have about 35 hens and i kept 3 of my favorite roos, winter is comming and i don't want to have to feed them there were over 300, they put a big dent i free range food also, i culled and sold over 300 guineas at the first of the year and only sold keets that the hens hatched, i have pretty much saturated the area with guineas but i still have 40 if i feel a need to hatch more later on..
This is something i do every 4 or 5 years to keep things fresh.

I am fine with eating peas!

I just cannot imagine eating a peafowl since I do not have many and I am attached to each one. I already lost enough this year so no need for me to kill any.... Let us know how it is anyways.

Zaz What are you building? And yes I would say you have enough Guineas, the Most I ever had was about 30 and that was for a short time. I have 4 Adults right now 2 male 2 Female, 3 of them were born here. My live and free range with my Chickens, they go in at night and get locked in. I have Royal Purples at the moment.

I keep the chickens around because I sell there eggs and there chicks, they earn there keep around here. Guineas I sell like crazy, I tend to keep them for a couple weeks and make sure there healthy then I send them to there homes.

I haven't been here in a while. Busy, busy all the time.
Sold an adult pair recently and a few babies.
Love my peas and try to keep up with everyone's most gorgeous birds here!

My babies have grown up quite a bit and it has been exciting to watch and learn so much about them!

A IB BS cock I have up for sale.

My beautiful little white girl that is out of my silver pied cock and pied hen. I could not tell if she was a he or she so I plucked a few feathers from her chest and sent them to a lab for DNA testing. I found out what I suspected.....girl!

Another IB BS cock for sale but the IB girl is staying.

Wunkie is still here but not doing as well as the others. His crooked neck gives him problems so we may have to deal with him later if he gets too bad.

The IB girl I am keeping.

My white girl and my Bronze girl. So tickled to have these beauties to add to my breeding pens.
