Show off your Peas!

Minx, here is that up and coming 3yr old bssp that I consider a loud pied because the background colors of his train are not white. He's camera shy and this is the new pen I finished over the weekend. It is the last pen I can make under Pea Palace, east side.

.

He is very cool looking FBC. I still like the way Thang looks too though. You have a lot of nice looking birds.

The male above and my other bssp peacock Roadtrip do not have the same father. But both birds came from Bigcreek poultry. I bought Roadtrip and 3 hens from her but hatched out the male above and 3 hens from one of her e-bay auctions in 2011,,coincidently it was the last auction I think I have bought fertile shipping eggs from. The 3 hens I hatched along with the male above are also not related to any of the adult birds purchased so I do have two seperate bloodlines of bssp birds. This guy above will probably win out and be my best looking male given time.He is so diffrent than Thang,,it's like comparing steak to hamburger,,Thang would find the weak spots in your netting for sure.

I think there could be ways to tame Thang down. My Damsel was pretty wild when I first got her. She would bounce off the netting if you got within 3 feet of her. She really didn't like it when you got close to her.

The other day I was really touched because I was crouched down petting Peep when Shyanne walks up right in front of me and just lays down closer than a foot from me and stretches out and started sleeping. I like it when they are so comfortable around me. Shyanne used to not even want to eat from my hand. I sat down and watched her, and her brother who was also really close. My spalding whites are very relaxed birds, but when they were younger they were the exact opposite!! They were the wildest peachicks I have ever had.

I recently found a few more eggs under a fallen tree , i gotta keep looking for them cause my hens are laying more eggs cause a turkey is taking care of their other eggs. If i keep taking their eggs away, will they keep laying more and more? Im not trying to be ambitious ;) but the more peas the better.
