Show off your Peas!

Ready for winter sleeps 6 dogs comfortably and a few peas too.

If we had a dog DW would have a heat lamp out for it. She used to do that in OK. 24/7, I thought it a terrible waste of energy and harder on the dog. How could they acclimate to the weather and what if the bulb burned out or power went off during a really hard cold spell? I used to have Norwegian Elkhounds and other than a nice cozy den they dug for summer use and the insulated dog house that dear old dad built for them they wouldn't use, they seemed to enjoy sleeping in the snow the best.

Yep mine prefer the round bale , i just decided to cover it this year cause we have been getting so much rain and that tends to drive ants into it so i sprayed and dusted under it before i set it up this year and covering it assures that spray works all winter

 good idea but what do they put over the pond ?

Lol! Yes the pond is open. The only time I've seen the peas drink from it is when it's been cleaned and full. The ducks play and splash in it so much the water level drops and I have yet to see the peas drink from it as I don't think they can reach the lower water level. And that's where I leave it. But I guess they may be able to if they really wanted....I just haven't seen it.

Can I see some pics of your pen?

Here are some older pics. There was grass, but between the peas and heat of summer, not much was left. This fall it started growing back. I put duck food under "teepee" so the peas couldn't get to it. Which there is a front on you just can't see it. That's how I decided to make covers for the water pans.

Wow what a shot! A levitating chicken! I thought they only did that when you weren't looking.
