We can't even get above 20*. Almost every morning is -6* for the past week now.

What sort of heat (if any) do you have for your birds? Do they manage okay in those low temps with no supplemental heat? How about as youngsters?

We have a quartz heater mounted high on a wall and pointed down at a perch in our small barn/shed, this is where Fred lives and all his kids spend their first year in it as well. I just came back in from feeding and ice busting and they are toasty in there

The PA 4 have their own "day pen", but at night they sleep in their "evening pen", which is on the back porch, right next to a window in our living room. Of course they sit there on the perch and look pathetic, but they're just too big to let inside, lol.

We are actually on a warming trend, they are saying today will be our coldest

. Mid fifties by Sunday and close to 60 Monday, bikini weather!

I think there is another big storm coming, that warming trend is just to lull you back into your bikini and flip flops so you really experience the new cold wave and snow drifts with appropriate enthusiasm
