the greenhouse was built from scratch...it cost about four thousand for everything and has to vents up top that are controlled by a heat devices...when the building gets hot it expands therefore opening the trap door...which has wired on it so no birds get out...I would love to come to florida and help you build it....the material is a 85 percent light penetrated corregated fiberglass...the most expensive part about the whole greenhouse....understood about the harshness of growing things....ive grown this basically my whole life and have done demolition, construction, and landscaping since I was young...I have family in by Miami and cape corral....so if you need help im just a click away...when the snow stops and the grounds start unthawing then I will be moving them out into their pens until the following winter...and so on...I will not keep them in the greenhouses unless it is winter...its about 20 degrees warmer in there and they are out of the wind... its a 12 by 12 greenhouse...and there is another 12 by 12 greenhouse right next to it...Can you come build me a tin shed with some roosts inside?![]()
Did you build the greenhouse from a kit or did you just get all the materials and make it? How big is it? I would like a tropical greenhouse aviary but I wasn't sure if you need any special fans or something if you kept birds inside a greenhouse. In the spring and summer I would have vents that you can open so it doesn't get so hot inside. I know it sounds funny that I am in Florida and want a tropical greenhouse, but even in my zone I can't grow some of my favorite tropicals, and even then many die back in the winter then re-grow in the spring.
Birdman, is this bird in this photo one of the two "buddy" birds, or is this another bird altogether? Are there five birds in the building plus the male somewhere else? Or only four in the building -- the white male, the IB hen, plus the two buds?
there are four birds in that building and the ib split white is from the offspring of the white male and ib hen that Is pictured....the other one is not pictured...correct four birds altogether in the building
also the feeding I don't think is proper what he is feeding them that's y they look thinner then normal...mine are very well fed...as for my birds I make similar noises to make the peafowl look at the camera and that's when they stretch there neck out....also for the very small one in his birds they are a ringneck female....so discard the image of the small bird...as for feed he doesn't feed them a high protein mix he just feeds then corn...and I do believe that they are whole corn...and he also feeds them bread right out of his hand as well as sunflowers....I am having dad go over there on Tuesday and to mess around in their poo to try and look for any diseases...also the white bird...got into his fan which he has wires around and actually injured itself...I just think I could give them a better home here then what they are in now...@Garden Peas , There is a 2013 hatch IB may be split white not pictured. A three-year-old White cock, a three-year-old IB hen, and two Black Shouldered birds he wants to know what they are. So yes, the single BS is one of the two 'buddies'.
so hope this helps on everything....so we still would be thinking that the two buddy birds are male bs.....also he said they were bought from someone and they weren't related....so they are not from the other birds....I didn't know that is how the male bs starts out and then must mature into the dark ib colors...thanks for all the help
