They look real good you have done a great job risen um up, very healthy looking and nice feathering

You pen setup is real nice.
I use panels also, i covered the bottom 14 inches with hardware cloth and th top hald with chicken wire and the top is covered with chicken wire and a canopy.

Thank you Zaz. : ) In the past when I've tryed to raise them, they always got the eye infection from the chickens, or they would get killed by bobcats, skunks, etc that would come up in the yard and eat them alive....after loosing all my precious peachicks two years ago, I just didn't get anymore as I was so upset. However, a dear friend of mine, who has IB peafowl gave me some eggs to hatch out, then I ordered some different colored eggs from a gal friend, and hatched Tulsa out and just couldn't bare to sell her so I kept her...well she couldn't be alone, well could she?? ; ) So I hatched her a buddy. Then a couple months later another friend of mine who lives about 25 minutes away called and said one of his peahens had hatched out three peachicks. A lady was coming to pickup two of them, but didn't want all three, and wondered if I'd like the lone peachick? Why not...so I swapped him a pair of juvenile guineas for the peachick (Tamina). That is how I ended up with my lovely trio. I am thinking Tamina is a peahen, yes? I know Prince is a male, and Tulsa is a female.

This time, I raised my peachicks away from all my other poultry, and keep their housing as clean as possible. Currently the are in a hutch in the front yard with a quad of Sebastapols. ; ) The Sebbies get to roam around the yard during the day, but the peachicks have to stay in jail. Poor babies! As soon as we get a top put on their run, we'll let them play in it, when the weather permits.


Also, not quite certain on their color, can you help me out?

I know Tamina is an IB...but I cannot remember what eggs the other two hatched from? I know I ordered Bronze, Bronzie Pied, Silver Pied and I know not what...just didn't keep track of which peachick hatched from which egg! LOL Thanks for any help sugar

Oh, Zaz; forgot to ask, how tall are you chainlink panels? Mine are 6ft. Yours look taller in the picture.

Slowly, but surely I'm going to keep adding chainlink panels. I need several goose and duck pens, and if my current peafowl setup gets too crowded, then I'll simply expand the run. I love how the chainlink is so light and easy to setup. Love it.

I love being able to move them around or add pannels to the ouside to make new pens.
You got any photos of your birds, mabe i can help you with the color if not surly someone here will have one or know what you have.

I hatched my two older birds from shipped eggs. No idea who the parents are. Both of Tamina's parents were IB. My trio of peas are the only peafowl on our place. We don't own any of the parents, sadly.

Nice looking pen -- I'm thinking of doing the same thing here for our new pen -- what size is yours? How many panels did you use to make it?

It's 10' x 10' x 6'. The panels are 6ft high. We used 4 panels. I think we payed about $130.00 for the whole setup (the run). We still need to put a top on it. The good thing about these panels is they are uber easy to take apart and set back up. In the future, when I add more panels I can expand my run to make it bigger, separate it, etc. Where are the pictures of your peachicks?

Aspen, if you leave the end off that butts up to your building because it looks wider than the building anyhow, you could take the last pannel and place it on the top and use it as part of the cover
