EE'S. tend to lay the pretty blue/green eggs. A mix that not all are familiar with, to get the real blue egg..is actually called a SBEL..super blue egg layer. She is a combination of an Americauna, or.. sometimes an EE, ..and a legorn! Yep. Nice big blue eggs. Here is a photo of mine, they always end up being white with black spots. Hatch yellow with little spots. The other girl is a pure Americauna. A wheaten. Yep, when they were done layingOoooohhh, the blue.... my EE lays a tanish/green egg... go figure...

Edit to note..lol..dirty face! She has been eating apple's from having fallen .. and not all raked up that fall. Sticky!
I have been lucky, both my girls are laying very darkly so I'm very pleased. I have a lovely breeder who I know takes a lot of effort to get his stock so I'm sure they are from decent stock here.Ooo..check out that dark dark egg...many a person wanting some that dark.. Marans?
That's a great picture!Oddly enough I only have one image of my ten chook's cache, which is a pity because they really layed a rainbow of colors. This was taken when nine of them layed in one day . Well actually the Marans layed the evening before (I picked it up when I fed them in the morning).

From left to right, the dark brown came from Nut, my Cuckoo Marans, the medium brown from Ol Red* (RIR), light brown from Glinda (BA). the rest came from my EE's:
Yellow - Robin.
Pink - Braveheart.
Various shades of blue - either Smokey, Strawberry Shortcake, ObLaDi or ObLaDa.
Green - Muffins
*You can't see it in the picture, but the fat end of Ol Red's is speckled
