I think I finally figured out what breed my mystery roo is! Not sure the type of babies I'll get from him crossing over my hens, but should be interesting. He was supposed to be a deleware hen but hatchery must of slipped him in!

I have what seems like a stupid question but I'll ask anyway! If you breed a red sex link hen with a RIR roo are the chicks red sex links?

No question is stupid, but no the chicks can come out most any color. I had one male that had the coloring of a female RSL and females that were the color of male RSLs.

I'm not sure what you would call them. I just call them 2nd generation Sex-Links. I like to experiment. My newest one is Rose Come Rhode Island Red male with Rose comb Rhode Island white females. I have in the past bred Single Comb Rhode Island Red males with Single Comb Rhode Island White females and Delaware females. I had some Single combs from my Rose Combs so I put them together to see if I would get any Rose Comb since the parent stock was Rose comb but all of the chicks were Single comb. This was the first time I have ever gotten Single Combs from my Rose Combs. Now I know you can get a Single comb out of Rose Combs but I have never gotten a Rose Comb from Single Combs that came from Rose Comb parent stock. It is fun to experiment
but now I have to wait for the chicks to get rid of their down and grow in their feathers to see what they will really look like.

Here are some females I kept. Most of he males were processed.

I kept this male to do some experimenting second generations with. The chicks came out all colors. I don't have pictures of some of the chicks. I wish I did. I did a third generation. The white or silver gene seemed to be dominant and with each breeding I got more white chicks.
