. Meet Peggy. I have 10 new red sex links I've had for almost 2 weeks. This one runs to the door of their hutch and loves to be held and petted. Oh Peggy Sue !!!![]()
. Are your sex links as feathered out the same as mine? I have none to compare with. All the other chickens I have are CX.Ok someone please help me. I have a mayor issue. About 2 weeks ago I got my first flock of 5 red sex links. They were friendly and all for the first week but always shy. Recently they have been running away from me, squawking when I pick them up, and some of them try to peck me when I feed them from my hand! I'll give them a fresh blade of grass and they try to peck my fingers!!! So now I'm very upset. They are supposed to be very friendly birds and were when I got them! Now I don't know what's happening?!!! Am I doing something wrong? Am I over reacting? How to I tame them more?!!! HELP PLEASE!!
No they are fully feathered. They're 9 weeks old. Are your sex links as feathered out the same as mine? I have none to compare with. All the other chickens I have are CX.![]()
Ok I do give them treats which is a mix of shelled corn and mealworms. They LOVE the meal worms but won't touch the cornGOSH, I WOULD GIVE THEM TIME , they go through different stages at different ages,:cd but treats always help to keep them friendly , my 15 will all be around one year by the end of may2015 & will peck at food , fingers, and my diamond rings or spots on legs or what ever ....lol.......lol... especially the barred rocks they can really hurt my fingers and can be very aggressive over food, so i just toss it to them , before i let them eat out of my hand ...lol......lol....its just safer that way .....lol......
