Show off your Red sex-links!! [[pictures included]] !! (:

Golden comet (wants to drink my rosé) is 16 weeks on Monday. In your experience, does a comb colored up like this mean she'll lay soon? She mutters to herself but no egg song yet. Should I clear out the nest box?

She looks to me to be close to start laying. Does she squat when you touch or put your hand over her back?

I'm don't remember if these were my ISA Browns or Red Sex-Links. This is an old picture and the color is not good. These pullets here had not started laying yet but started shortly after this picture was taken. There combs and wattles are more developed and redder here. Yours will lay, just be patient. It can take up to 6 months or longer for some to start to lay. In my experience they start laying generally 18 to 24 weeks. Some are early bloomers and some are late bloomers. Good luck and have fun...
Thanks! Looks like mine has a little ways to go still. Cmon, chicken!

From your pictures they look like they are not ready to lay yet. Another thing when you touch them or put your hand over their back they will squat. This is another sign that they are getting close to starting to lay.
i like this picture this is smething that i didnt know this picture needs to be put on the thread line -What is this chicken thinking-

This is Emma, one of my 6 RSL chicks at about 4 weeks. All of mine, both RSL and Columbian Rock X, are super cuddly. I handled them a lot as they have been growing up, wanting them to be friendly, but may have overdone it. :D Now they want to be held or climbing up on me all the time when I am out with them. :/
Awww, Emma sure is a cutie! I understand about the possibly being to friendly, I cuddled and hung out with my White Rocks and Rhode Island Reds so much when they were chicks, now I can't walk to the clothesline without having at least 2-3 chickens following and tripping me. :gig

One of my girls being inquisitive. I have two RSL's and they're kinda shy. Getting a bit better (especially with treats in hand!) but...
