Show off your Red sex-links!! [[pictures included]] !! (:

Greetings.. My neighbor went to TS this past April to get some layers. I asked her to pick up 6 pullets for me that lay white eggs... She came home with a straight run and I wound up with these. I think they are red sex-links... I purchased two hens from My Pet Chicken that are now a bit over two weeks old. My birds have black in the feather, (the ones from TS) Any thoughts?

I agree w/ @cmom ; these look exactly like my hatchery NHs. They do not look like my Golden Comets.

Here are some pics:
I made them small, so that they all fit and the post isn't too long. If you click on a pic, it will make it bigger.

This is one of my hatchery New Hampshire females; notice the black in the tails (like yours).

Here are two of the NHs, one coming and one going. Again, notice how much they look like the girls you have.

This is one of the NH pullets as they were feathering out.

This is several of them hanging out by the coop in the evening.

Now for the Comets:
(They're Golden Comets. IDK whether there's any such thing as a Red Comet, but mine are Golden Comets.)

This is Chocolate, the darkest of my Golden Comets. She has no black feathers at all.

This is all five of my Golden Comets when they were young. Notice the differences in coloration between them and the NH chicks above. (Never mind the white ones, those are Leghorns).

This is Sandy, my lightest Golden Comet.

These are the other three Golden Comets, Chocolate, Caramel, and Goldie is in the background.

Golden Comets have red over coloring and white under coloring, but absolutely no black feathering (or at least it would be extremely rare).
The darkest of my GCs looks kind of like a NH from the front from across the yard, but from the back, there's no doubt!

These birds are so pretty and full of personality. We have owned 5 leghorns for over a year now and I love them so this year we decided to get 5 more and we went with RSL's. They are now 16 weeks old and two of them have starting laying!! Here are a couple of pics!

This spring I did an experiment breeding a Rose Comb Rhode Island Red male to Rose Comb Rhode Island White females expecting Rose Comb Red Sex-Links. Here are 2 of the chicks. I gave away all but 2 of the white chicks thinking they were males and last year we processed all of our RSL males (freezer camp). The 2 white chicks I kept look like females. In the past I have bred a Single Comb Rhode Island Red male to Single Comb Rhode Island White females and got Red Sex-Links. I just left a message for the fellow I gave the others chicks to, to ask if any of the dark chicks appeared to be either male or female. The pictures at the bottom are RSL's I have hatched over the years. The males get processed.

Here are some pictures of past hatches with RSL's.

This is my grow-out coop and pen.
