I have no Speckled Sussex now but I'm hoping to get more in the Spring.
Somehow I've missed this thread, but I'm the person who had that nicely colored but very mean roo in the auction posting that was mentioned somewhere in the first several pages of the thread. He was culled for personality issues after his aggressive leaps reached chest height on me, oh my!
He was a hatchery bird, as was his "sister". Her markings were decent too, I will see if I can find some old pics. She was a darling, and was unfortunately killed in an accident. They both were too small and narrow based on what I've learned in this thread.
So once I have a few more I will come along and post them for your critiques. I'm not sensitive, so feel free to lay it on the line. I will probably not keep a rooster if one shows up by accident, so if I end up with a good one and can't keep him we will have to find a way to get him to one of you. We just hated to kill the one we had but chest height on me is eye level on a child. Not acceptable!
In future I hope to start a proper breeding program but right now time and lack of segregated space do not permit.
Love these birds and just wanted to say hi to all in the thread.
