That is a totally gorgeous white pullet Chelsea...should do very well at the spring shows!!!

This pregnancy thing was very unexpected. I'm 34 years old and this is my first...definitely an oops. I keep asking my doctor with all the miracles of modern medicine if they can't just inject something and I can pop out a puppy instead. I love all of my animals and am not so sure about this kid thing yet.

What really irks me is that that I was dealing with the morning sickness during the fall show season and will have to think about labor and a real baby right in the middle of my hatching season. Might put a big damper on things for a couple months at least....

Congratulations on the baby, You will be very happy... after you have the baby in your arms. Very happy for you. Your a hard worker and it really pays off for you.

It was definitely unplanned. I'm 34 years old and always have been the type to avoid kids like the plague. Sometimes things happen for a reason though. Guess its time to buck up and take responsibility. If I'm lucky I'll be able to turn it into my next barn slave.

Good news too... I ordered a new digital camera and it should be here next week sometime. I broke my last one on a trail ride. Going through withdrawals after no pics at all the fall shows.

When the kid is born, get it used to work early as possible.
If he starts to cry put him under a broody hen, or something.

I remember morning sickness 21 years ago. Seems that is one of the things I have never forgotten.

I was so unsure about kid thing too. I only have my one DD. I was 20 then. Talk about an oops!

After the first few weeks, things for me settled into a routine. Until I had to go back to work after 8 weeks. A period of adjustment for that, then settled into a routine again. Routines were easy then. Feed & sleep on a schedule, change diaper when needed. DD learning to walk was fun and exciting. She has loved animals since age 3 (when I married DH). She has always been right there at hatching time, feeding time, etc.

It is more amazing to watch them grow and learn than it is to watch a puppy

. I will say I think my favorite years were birth to 7. Now she is in college with goal being DVM.

I am very proud of her for everything she does accomplish/has accomplished and the lady she has became.

Of course I am almost as proud of my dog for being so smart and learning well too

ETA: I jokingly tell DD that not much has changed in 21 years. She has gotten smarter and learned a TON, but her days are still mostly spent eating & sleeping, just like when she was a baby
