Me and my brother have selected these Birds to show for our county fair. The four Polish might go to our state fair and will go to our National Show. Do they look Quality to you guys? Production Hens This is our first year showing Hens for the Production/ Egg Laying Category. Yes, I am aware that Comets are hybrids, but our county is not picky, as long as it's an egg laying breed, it's fine. It is our third year showing fancy poultry. Fair is August 3rd to the 10th, do these birds look okay enough? Lacey- Bought her from TSC - Sold the other five and kept her because she had the best lacings. She - Is a Silver Laced Wyandotte - has a rosecomb - has yellow feet - has black nails - is plump - is about done growing - is 4 months old - might be laying (her or Hope...don't know) - is shy
Hope - rescued her from some boys about to kill her She - is a Golden Comet - has yellow feet - a single comb - might be laying (her or Lacey, don't know) - is most likely done growing - is very adventurous - is an acceptable breed at our fair
******************************************** Polish We raise and breed Quality White Crested Black (Standard) Polish Chickens. We are currently looking for a new White Polish Bantam Roo or a Pair of Standard Whites. My brother fell in love with whites and so my mom spent forever finding a pair. Cookie (As in Oreo Cookie) She - is a White Crested Black Polish Hen - is a top quality bird from the top breeder in America (Joel H. from New York) - was $100 to buy her - has won First Place before at a large poultry show - needs her nails cut - looks like a mess because the roo pops the eggs and they eat them (we tried fake eggs, but the roo don't care) - has a large rounded crest - has slate feet - has had her black feathers plucked into a star on her crest
Angel She - is a White Crested Black Pullet - she is possibly the daughter of the above hen ( or one of the other two we bought from him) - is very sweet, but not very calm - is the best pullet we have - is being shown by my brother (lucky) - stays very clean somehow - still needs some plucking done for the black feathers on her crest - has slate feet
Neveah She - is a White Crested Black Pullet - is sisters to Angel (by father at least - but could still be neice to him because we sold his brother) - has slate feet - needs more plucking done on her crest
Oreo He - is very sweet compared to his hen- protective dad - is larger than his dad and it's very noticeable - used to live with his two sisters above but now lives alone til fair - has slate feet - has a beautiful crest - is very face- to -camera shy - has a beautiful tail structure
******************************************** Banties My brother just had to get some Old English Game Birds after he saw how tame a friend of our's was. He is also showing a bantam white Polish hen, but I can't get a good picture... L'il Crower He's the roo... we can't show him anymore, he got frostbite and lost the ends of all his toes
Unnamed (Haven't figured out a name yet... :/ ) She - is a Silver Duckwing Old English Game Bantam Hen - has the largest comb of our OE Banties - is the best looking of our banties - is the only one not broody - has a nice tail display (not shown)
Edgar He - is a Golden Sebright - is going to be sold after Fair - is a very big boy for a bantie (as in very tall...) - has slate feet - was bought as a companion to Hope ^^ above. We then figured he was a rooster, not a hen when he started to crow :/ His - Comb is curving left !
