Show your lavender Orpington mixes!

I have a lavender Orpington cockerel and I am now really curious to see some people’s lavender Orpington crosses!
I’m interested in this subject too. We recently got some straight run lavender Orpington chicks. The purpose was to get some roosters so we could raise our own chickens. I admit lavender wasn’t a choice I really wanted but the Orpington breed was one that I considered and a store had them so lavender Orpingtons it is.

I agree, I kinda wanted a different color they are probably my least favorite chicken (in looks)... but my friend had the cockerel so I decided to get him. I also have a pullet, but I still love them both!

I really wanna see what his babies look like!!

Hello! I’m new to chickens and brand new to this site but I know for sure or at least I paid for lavender black Buff Orpingtons from Meyer Hatchery - 3 day old chicks out of Ohio and I paid dearly for them so I like to think for what I paid and was invoiced for that they are correct. I am going to try to post a picture of them for you. I have 9 chicks all together. The Orpingtons are going to be the three that have the black beaks with the darkest plumage for what they have in yet and the darkest down which is black mostly with some white/yellow. They have a small amount of white on their face but most do not. The other two dark chicks in the picture are Swedish Flower Hens which range in coloring of three different coat/plumage types. I have two dark or black and yellow and then one very light that almost looks like one of my Creme Legbars. I hope this helps. I also hope my attempt works.

Jadefarms/ songster,
The chicks which are the Orpingtons are the one standing on the grit dish, the one facing the waterer, and the third black one standing guard on the feed dish. Hope you can see them well enough to make a good decision. They are fat as mud and cute as can be. They also don’t mind shoving others out of the way to get to the feed.
Take care,
Pam

Aww they are beautiful!!

We got these lavender Orpingtons from Rural King about 10 days ago. Not sure what hatchery they come from. I would have rather had the buff variety but they only had straight runs in the lavender variety, so I got a couple buff pullets and four straight run lavenders. The little gray ones are the lavenders most of the others are black Australorps that are a few days older.
