Sounds like a good plan, but I cannot believe how hard it is to get a lav roo. I cannot give away my rare breed roos, let alone expect money for them. I have everybody condensed for the winter so I am not really in need til spring, but still....Like to find out where I am going to have to go to get one.

i recomend a silkie roo to the showgirl hens, that way you dont get to much baldness comeing through.

Ohhh- so you can get some sparse looking silkies? I thought you'd get some silkies and some showgirls. In-between would be pretty undesireable.

Ok not sure this is the place but lets tallk toes. here are the pic's

Both of the pic's are from some of my chicks. I always seem to have a few that hatch with bad toes.

please share your experience. Lets be honest their not perfict. and of all the flaws I think toes can be the worst.
 
Its not the best picture. but the top pic has six toes one between the 4&5th...
