showgirls

Showgirls are on my son's Christmas list...of all things! He's only 3, and loves, loves, loves chickens. We saw our first showgirl yesterday at Chickflick's house, and he got to pet it. Now he's non-stop talking about "the chickie with the funny neck". Not sure how I'm gonna pull this one off! lol

We just candled our first batch of eggs. We actually have 6 that we think are growing!

That's not counting the second batch of 14. Mom is estatic!

That's great! after stuck in USPS system for 7 days... you still get 6 developed, that is amazing.
I'm sure next batch will do even better.

Mine are hatching today! I already have one nice showgirl that is walking around. The others are pipping and zipping away!

We can't stop looking at the eggs! So far, we haven't seen or heard anything.

mothergoose- were the eggs moving or chirping before they hatched? Mom is curious

We still don't have anything going on, maybe tomorrow? We did set them in the evening...

Hi Shelly,
Ang sign yet? They could be late or early sometimes, each incubator are diffirent and humidity play an important role too. Just be patience...I know that's soooooo hard....

Nothing, yet. We ended up with one growing egg from the second batch, but that one is kicking in the egg like crazy! So, in total we have 7 good ones, 6 to hatch at any moment. I'm not suprised about the second batch. We were having below zero temps when it was in transit. If we get one showgirl to hatch, Mom will be happy. I will, too! I'll post as soon as we see something.
