Sewincircle they are really looking nice the white bearded silkie is very pretty my ones from my 1st hatch are getting so big well all eccept for tiny she is about 1/4 the size of her sisters and brothers. All of my white showgirls are getting red combs. My next hatch is due on Thursday I'm taking them out of the Turner Tuesday morning I candled last night and I could see 17 or 18 moving around of the showgirl and I think I have about 11 cuckoo marans moving around. What sucks is I have to sell about half of my chicks I can pick 10 showgirl/ silkies and 6 marans out of both of my hatches and sell the rest. I went and bought a really nice coop from a shed place and is has beating box access and a nice stained exterior I think it was a little pricey at $ 1000.00 but that made room were I can put around 14 bantams in it all I have to do is put a run around it and I will have a pen with frizzles/silkies/showgirls in it so I will have some wild looking eggs to hatch when they start laying lol. Almost all of my eggs that came from angies b/b/s/white pen developed only 1 not developed I think unless I mixed them up putting them in the bator. Looks like I got a good chance of getting my splash .

Thats awsome Danny! I know its sad but you cant keep so many roos anyway. About half will be roos. So it will work out well, so you can keep mostly hens and a couple roos. Maybe one of each breed. I sure hope you get a blue splash. Tim the last pic of mine looks really blue. I thought it was a partridge. You were right. You said you thought you saw a blue in my batch. I thought it to be brown.

They are all great though. I will only be keeping one roo though out of that group. I have to keep it one roo to 10 hens. There is too much fighting other wise. So only three more days tomorrow!!! I cant wait. I would like to see the cuckoo marans too!!! eggciting!
Shay Tim is indeed in Mohawk stage. It makes me laugh how tall the hair is on that one! hehehe

Ok they are out of the Turner now! I can't believe how much of a difference a Turner makes in a hatch. I officially have 18 showgirls that made it out of 24. None of my blue,black'cooper marans made it I think the 11 hour power outage and the fact that the post office looked like they decided to punch a whole in the shipping box with there fist had something to do with it . I have 10 out of 13 cuckoo marans eggs that made it so I think so far am going to have a pretty good hatch keeping my fingers crossed that all that made it to day 18 will hatch if so I will have allot of little fuzz butts to choose from!

Shay20 don't you have a couple more batches going? If so how are they doing?

Ok I had 3 of my marans pip there shells today before I left for work they might end up being a day early I should have a couple chicks when I get home if everything goes right.they pipped this morning and my wife gets home around 5:30 PM so she will call and update me when they hatch. Tomorrow should be a very eggciting day !

My 1st cuckoo maran hatched at 8PM still have 3 or for of them that have piped all the cuckoos look like they want to be a day early it is only day 20 I guess since they were close to the Turner motor they got a little wormer those are ok I can't wait till tomorrow when my showgirls start to pip and zip. I am going to a poultry show/sale on sat. Someone is supposed to have some blue birchen marans chicks there and I'm going to try to get me a couple. Will give more updates as they pop out.
