Showing and Breeding my Large Fowl Blue, Black, and Splash Cochins

Since I have not been able to have any successful hatches so far, when BF-1 started laying about 5 days ago I decided I would set eggs as she layed. So I now have 5 eggs in the incubator, I am not even sure if they are fertile. I would like everything hatched by February 21.

Do you know that your male is fertile? Chicks from other hens? Witnessed them breeding?
The male is fertile, I have had chicks from the other hens. I have witnessed them breeding before but it is hard when I am in school all day and only have about an hour or two to get everything done outside

Candle the eggs and see if they are developing. If not then crack eggs from them until you see they are fertile then collect a batch to set in incubator.

A couple weeks back I had 2 dozen eggs shipped to me from a reputable breeder. I had the first pip in the eggs this evening! I think there are 12 left, not bad for shipped eggs.
