Shrink wrapped ducks?? What should I do?

Give her some calls you'll be amazed how good she really is.....

So how does that work? Will she sit til they hatch, since calls take longer than chickens? And how does that work with raising them??? Chicken...ducklings???? Will she want to mother them...know what to do? Or would I take over from there? LOL...seems crazy!!!

The hatching I was chatting with you about failed in May

Unfortunately I hadn't joined this forum yet, otherwise I think I may have been able to avoid it...so sad! I was trying to figure out what happened because my eggs turned dark in color. I honestly think the humidity was not right with my bator. Don't think it was stable enough, so need to take a good look at my equipment (thermometer and bator) to make sure all is working correctly.

And would I have to worry about misting the eggs since she is a chicken, does not swim and will not bring moisture back to the eggs??? OMG...freaking out and she doesn't even have any eggs yet

I would give you some hatching eggs (mixed breeds) but you live on the other side of the country lol! Get papabrooder he has amazing reviews and so many varieties of purebreds!

Thanks! I will look into them. I had chatted with someone on BYC in June about Bantam Cochin eggs that she could ship and would receive in 2 days..but not sure she would still have eggs now.

Yes she will sit until they hatch. Once they hatch you can take them away or leave them with her, she will teach them the ropes. She can't show them how to swim of course but she can teach them the rest.

NO no misting, she will do the job. Unless it's really hot out, then close to hatching day you want to mist them really good.

People use Cochins and silkies all the time to hatch out duck eggs.
