easiest way to tell drake from hen is by quack.. Drakes have a soft raspy quack while females have a loud stereotypical duck quack.. When they are older males get a curl on their tales while females stay straight.

How early can you tell by their quack...typically what age?

Ok so it will be easier to tell once the scab is off? Right now I can't see anything! Struggler is a major snuggle bug!

Maybe you should keep Blue and Struggler sine they are both snugglers and you would have one from each hatch!

Well a hen gets her quack before a drake.. So when then hens are some what quacking males are still cheeping.

Got it! I have only kept the ducklings I have hatched in the past for 6 weeks...never knew how to tell male from female though!
