Hi.. my girl seeks ill.. the weather has been super hot too. Shes just standing there or sitting. Not moving at all. I got her ice cold water watermelon and I've been trying to give her water by a medicine dropper. She had clear whitish poop.. what could it be?

Is she laying? If so, has she laid any soft-shell eggs recently?

Have you checked her crop? Is it full and squishy or full with hard lumps? Or is it empty? Can you check it again first thing tomorrow morning to see if it empties overnight?

Heat sickness is an obvious possibility. Begin by giving her electrolytes, even if all you have is Gatoraid. An electrolyte imbalance during hot weather can strike chickens very quickly. They revive just as quickly if given electrolytes.

This summer’s heat has been tough on many of our flocks. Is there shade available? Try putting a fan out by your run. Provide her with electrolytes in her water. It is important that chickens stay hydrated in the heat!
I certainly hope she feels better. Keep us posted on her progress....

I took her Inside, and put her in a kiddie pool.. she laid other day eggs were real small not soft tho.. is it possible there could be a egg blockage? She just started laying other day. Found her sitting in a dirt hole on 6 small eggs

When they first start laying the eggs will be small. The heat is something you need to focus on. Use what ever you have to provide as much shade as possible. If you can provide treats with a lot of water in them naturally- watermelons, cucumbers, romaine. Let the hose run and make mud puddles. Chickens expell hear through their feet and waddles. She’ll do so much better. Heat can kill just be aware. As far as her being egg bound if she’s laying daily she’s not bound.
Her symptoms seem to be related to this terrible heat we’ve been having.
