Sick button quail HELP

I have read that ACV can affect a birds ability to absorb calcium properly, so do stop adding it to the water as GrandmaBird suggested. Honestly, even an 'avian specialist' vet tends to have more of a clue about exotic parrots than things like chickens or quail. So I doubt it would be worth your time or money trying to find a vet. You can only do the best you can and give her every chance to get better, which you are.

I took out the acv. Now she just has regular and water with the probiotics. She does have a heat lamp and I haven't given her any treats in a couple days. She just has the game bird feed with a little bit of finch seed and freeze dried mealworms mixed in

Not drinking much more, hasn't laid today. Slightly less fluffed and spending less time under her lamp. She still seems slightly off balance though and I haven't seen her poop today so I don't know if it's still coming out undigested or if she just flung food and it stuck to it. She has started sneezing though

Oh and another thing I noticed, her crop is always hugely visible. It's only slightly visible on my other quail most of the time but hers is always obvious

It sounds like she has crop stasis or a crop impaction. I just looked it up and one symptom is undigested food in the droppings. I'm not sure what to do about that so you could try asking for help in the Emergencies/Diseases/Injuries and Cures forum. I'm sorry you and your poor birdy are going through this!

Weird thing. She stopped using the lamp around 5 days ago and she stopped being fluffy, crop looks normal, and didn't lay for about a week and today she did. A perfect, strong, normal egg.no medication or anything added. Not sure what actually was happening but she seems to be fine now

Great news :) She must have had some infection that she's managed to clear thanks to your care.

Has she fully recovered? xx
