sick chick....any advice?

Hi lurky... how is your chick today? (I swamped this weekend so did not check in)
Anytime a bird is ill they will usually stop eating and drinking...of the two hydration is the most important. I keep my chickies off the ground the first five weeks (mamma can go in and out of the cage so they are exposed to organisms through her but not in such numbers that it can overwhelm them.

Yes Lurky,

Please update on the chick!

And please ignore the insensitive posts. 98% of the people here are good, sweet, nice people who share your interest in poultry and are a wealth of info. Please don't let one or two sway your opinion of the forum.

Thanks you guys

My poor little girl died last night. The only thing i can think of is that the ground feeder is going up on a chain and the ground it was on will be removed this morning. I plan on diggin it up and moving it out of the yard. Althought there has been minimal amounts of mold, it must have been enough to cause harm to a baby. I hate when we have to learn things the hard way
