This little guy is making soft chirping noises that are different than the others. Will just stand like this and occasionally stretch out his neck and shake his head. They are on grass under a couple of ecoglows at night. Temps getting down to the 50's at night but everyone is always happy when I check them at night. Tonight I put a shallow box with shavings under the ecoglows to see if it's the damp grass that is bothering him/her. I haven't been washing out the waterers every time I change the water and occasionally there's poops in it. I'll start getting on top of that better. They did eat some shavings in the beginning, but they've been on the grass now for 4 nights, so I'm doubting it's compacted crop. They are on a medicated chick starter and have been from the beginning. He doesn't appear to have any nasal discharge, eyes are clear and didn't feel or see any parasites on him. Checked for pasty butt and he's clear on that account, too.

Any guesses as to what I have? I'll be taking a trip to the local hatchery tomorrow with a friend and can probably pick up some meds there....

Sorry about the upside down video... I'll try to get a better one tomorrow.

It seems distressed about something to me. What I don't know. Maybe struggling to breath. Hopefully someone will come along with some advice for you

Are you giving them chick-sized grit for help in digestion since they are now on grass? 50 degree temps seem a bit low with the use of a Brinsea Ecoglow at night on grass. I believe that they are to be used indoors where there is around a 70 degree environment.

Heard her peeping this morning so got up and checked her. Feels like she's got a hard lump in her crop. Hard, but small. They had gotten some grit the first couple days they were on grass, but not the last two. I threw some in this morning. I wonder if oil would work? She's still fairly alert, just obviously uncomfortable.

Gave her some oil and water and massaged her crop for a bit, but now I'm not sure it's the crop. It felt like it could've just been breastbone. Warmed her up for a bit then put her back with the others in the sunshine.
