Please be aware if you are buying chickens. Tyler's Emporium in Richmond is selling chickens who have Avian leukosis sarcoma. I have called him about getting chickens from him that are unhealthy he completely denies having any issues. We took a blue laced red wyandotte we got from him to university of Kentucky and we got the results back. This disease is a retrovirus that can be passed onto your flock. Also if you have this in your flock it is passed from the Hen to the egg if you hatch out babies they will have the sarcoma. Dave from Tyler's emporium said he has not had any issues and that people are coming and getting chicken from him and have had no problems. The sarcoma causes tumors to grow in your chickens and can cause some respiratory issues. The chickens can be carries, and not have symptoms, or they can have symptoms. The chicken I have I am not able to feel the breast bone, I must be very careful if I am going to add chickens and if I add babies they must have the merkel vaccination. My chickens are mostly pets I don't sell them so I am alright but if you are buying chickens to sell or show avoid tyler's emporium in Richmond, Ky
