Mike 10 I think your pullet could possibly have coccidiosis. She has the classic "puffed up" posture they get. Other symptoms are poor appetite, weakness, ruffled feather, and diarrhea with or without blood. Treatment is Corid or amprollium (from the cattle medicine section of feed stores) in the water. Dosage is 2 tsp of the liquid or 1.5 tsp of the powder per gallon of water for 5-7 days. Get it right away, and if she is not drinking give her some with a dropper. The liquid can be given undiluted 2 drops now and 2 drops tomorrow. After 5-7 days, give them probiotics and vitamins in the water. Treat all birds.
Ok I saw a powder that is for that not sure what was the name of it but I got oxytetracycline. Antibiotic. She drinks water and does eat a bit. Ate a bit of grass and other green a bit. I went out there before they went to bed and looked like she pooped a white or yellowish liquid. I'm sure it's not pee what could that be? But if it is coccidiosis I will go for the powder tomorrow if she seems worse. I did give them vitamins and electrolytes in water. Thanks for your response hopefully she gets better. But please respond if you know about the yellowish liquid. Is she getting her sickness out or is getting worse..
