@kamac27 I'd do some research on lash eggs. It may not be what your hen "laid," but it's worth looking into. Hopefully, someone with more experience will chime in.

I don’t have an avian vet nearby, I have some baytril antibiotics, I’m wondering if that would help although I’ve read eggs from a chickens given baytril shouldn’t be eaten ever again.I don't want to scare you, but there is a good chance that your hen has a reproductive tract infection. Is here any chance you can get her to a vet?
One of my buff ops, 9mo old, has been looking sick, not moving too much, puffed up, tail feathers down. I thought maybe egg bound so I brought her inside and have been doing magnesium baths. She’s been pooping runnyish poops and eating and drinking small amounts. This morning I found this in her pen, what the heck is it? Shriveled soft egg?? Thanks for any advice!
Thanks! There’s a good amount of poop from overnight so I’m hoping to see an egg today. Will keep updating![]()
It does look like a shriveled up egg membrane. She eats food with added calcium, purina layena crumbles. Do u think she needs more calcium?

I opened it up and theres nothing inside so I’m not sure.Could that be a lash egg? I'm no expert, but it looks similar to lash eggs I've seen elsewhere on this site.
If she were mine I would start Baytril just in case. Yeah, some people say you shouldn't eat the eggs again, but I just wait a couple of weeks before eating mine.I don’t have an avian vet nearby, I have some baytril antibiotics, I’m wondering if that would help although I’ve read eggs from a chickens given baytril shouldn’t be eaten ever again.
If you take a look at the below images - you can see how it would be a "soft shell" egg that has been "deflated". A soft shell and/or deflated egg would be very hard to pass. I would worry about what happened to the contents of the egg, whether there is evidence that the yolk and albumen were expelled or if they traveled back up the oviduct. That's interesting. Now that I look again, it does look shriveled - like a delayed balloon.
