sick chicken (pussy eyes)

Is there a bad odor from the face? You may need to press out some of the pus in the eyelid, which can become solid the longer it remains. Flushing the eye with saline or eye wash, and cleaning out with QTips or other tools, can help medicines to help. Then apply Terramycin eye ointment or plain Neosporin ointment twice daily. Mycoplasma gallisepticum or coryza could be possible. Coryza may cause a bad odor. Peck wounds or getting a foreign body into the eye could also cause an abscess like this.

Do you have saline for treating wounds in a pharmacy? Or antibiotic eye drops or an ointment or cream for first aid? You can make saline with 1 tsp or 4 grams of table salt, and boil it on low for 15 minutes, or look for it in a pharmacy where eye products are sold. If a vet is possible, they could help.

For future reference, Neosporin is a brand name. We call it "Triple Antibiotic Ointment" in the hospital. It is also available in generic form. The three main active ingredients in Neosporin are neomycin sulfate, polymyxin B sulfate, and bacitracin zinc.[17][8] You should have something similar there. It is a broad spectrum combination. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Neomycin/polymyxin_B/bacitracin

It worked very well when one our hens was attacked by a possum. (Extensive muscle damage at the tail and the skin tore from her R. flank.) We brought her inside and slathered Neosporin on her wounds each day. Note that the brand name worked better in this case because the petroleum base melted quicker and 'dissolved' into the wounds. The generic (Walmart brand) which I normally use on ourselves stayed solid long enough that the hen picked it off and ate it.
I am sorry for your loss. An infection that bad, that close to the brain would probably have been fatal regardless of your actions.
You did all you could, now take care of yourself and your family.:hugs
