this is how they do when they start getting sick, they ain't as active, the quit eating and drinking, they get cold, they cnt keep balance, and it just goes from there

my chicks r abt a week or two old i bought 5 but now i only have 3 two of them died yesterday and 1 of the others is starting to act weird it's not as energetic as the others it is there with his eyes closed I give them starter feed from a cola their poop looks normal they can be fine one minute and turn around and they're sick and now it's eating drinking it's just starting to act a little lazy idk wut is wrong i got them from somebody The ones that died when they were just laying there and they pooped it was like a dark chocolate color im fixin to put a heat lamp in there but they r in my bathroom with a heater it stays warm but i had to find my other heat lamp
I WOULD SAY COCCIDIOSIS
THEY RUFFLD AND HUMPED UP WHEN IN 2 OR 3 RD DAY ID SICKNESS
THEN IN 5 DAYS ARE DEAD.
YOU NEED TO PUT CORID AMPROLIUM IN THEIR WATER
THE FEED STORE SHOULD HAVE IT.
IF YOU DO NOT THEY ALL WILL DIE.

I tend to think they are cold. Chicks who are a few days old don't normally die of coccidiosis. That tends to strike after they are a few weeks old. But since they are not under a heat lamp or in 90 degree temperatures, they can become cold, stressed and die. Use a heat lamp above them 18-24 inches, and raise it to keep temps at 90, then decrease by 5 degrees per week. Place a barrier around them to keep drafts from them. Dip their beaks in electrolyte water as often as possible until they are acting normal and eating.

X2 I agree.

Get them warm and hydrated first.
