Sick chicken

hi I have a Chicken about 3 years old. She does not look too good. She seems to be very fat and slow . Can hardly move. Also her rear is full of poop. Also her comb is like a purple color. She seems to be eating ok. She walks but not too far then sits down. Would anyone know what is wrong with her. Thanks.. Gene

Is she fat all over when you pick her up, or is her lower belly enlarged? Has she lost weight in her breast or keel area? Can you feel her crop and see if it is full, hard, puffy like a balloon, or empty? I would clean up her vent area with soap and water, and make sure there is no problem there such as prolapse or maggots. Has she laid eggs recently? She may be dealing with a reproductive disorder that is making it hard to walk around. A dark comb can be a sign of heart or breathing problems. An enlarged lower belly from internal laying or ascites can put pressure on other organs making it hard to breathe.
