one of my favorite chickens, Topaz started acting a little unussal a few days ago, she was always in the nesting box, i just figured she was going broody again, topaz ans Star (my other chicken) had went temporarly broody in the spring. it was not untill the day after yesterday that i noticed she was sick. she was having trouble passsing droppings and what did come out was runny and a sickly green covered with a creamy top. it was also very smelly. she was acting as if in much pain and was acting restless. when i took her out of the nesting box and out of the coop. she keep clucking with her feathers puffed up, wipping her beak on the ground and fluffing up her feathers. she is drinking alot and eating little. her crop was very hard and bloated a bit. i fed her some bread soaked in olive oil i had a very difficult time feeding it to her as she would not eat it. i only got a few piesces in her untill i gave up. yesterday she looked slightly better as her crop was back to normal and her droppings were more soild. today dhe is slightly better as she is not having as difficult time passing herr droppings. she is not layimng eggs still. please help me. what an i do to help her and what disease may it be?

Has she been wormed lately? Diarrhea is a sign of worms. If she has been wormed recently, she could be suffering from a intestinal infection. You could try one of the tetracyclines, which work well on intestinal tract issues. Also in the future, keeping probiotics in the water keeps the intestines in good shape to ward off infections.

To know for sure, take a droppings sample to your vet. He can tell you if she has worms and if she does, what they are and the best way to treat.
