Hello, I think we are dealing with a coryza outbreak. I tried treating with water soluble tylosin and VetRx as it was all I was able to buy, but it doesn’t seem to be helping. What else can I do to help our babies? Thank you!

Welcome To BYC

How old are the chicks?
Please post photos of them and describe the symptoms.
Is there a foul odor?
Where are you located in the world?

VetRx is a remedy that is like vicks vapor rub, it may help to temporarily alleviate a bit of congestion, but it will not treat Infectious Coryza.

Tylosin is more commonly used to treat symptoms of Mycoplasma. If you are dealing with Infectious Coryza then you'll want to include a Sulfa antibiotic along with the Tylosin.

I will get photos for you. They are ranging from 4-6 weeks old. Symptoms seem varied for each chick. Consistently they have all had sneezing, gasping, watery eyes, and nasal discharge. I have had 3 that had swollen faces, and one with fowl odor but it was brief. The swollen face and odor led me to believe coryza. I was able to get LA200 today, but it is injectable and I wouldn’t even begin to know how to inject such a small, thin chick. Can it be given orally?

Are they where they can get plenty of fresh air but stay relatively warm?

Did they drink the mixed Tylosin water? How many days did you give it?

LA200 dosing is hard to nail down and it's not clear if it can be given orally. I agree, I'd be hesitant to give it by injection as well.

I’ve tried to give them as much outside time as possible, but I live in Florida and it has been horrible storms every day. Despite being in a secure coop/run, the wind always blows a mist in and I was afraid the dampness would make them worse. They were on the Tylosin for 5 days and several of them seemed to start doing better but then a few relapsed worse.
