Ok so one of my chickens had chicks about 6-7 weeks ago. A few days ago we stuck them in with 4 chicks about a half a month older then them.. (mom's idea) Well at first it looked like it was going to work, except for every now and then one of the older ones would peck a chick. (just enough to move the chick out of its way.) Well today my mom went out to check/feed the chicks and found that the some what bigger chicks had trapped 3 of the smaller one under their nest box. We removed the bigger chicks and freed the smaller ones. All but one of the chick are fine. I'm not sure what's wrong with Cheeper. Cheeper can't stand, is very tired and spit up liquid (not a lot and it stopped after.) Cheeper is a tad cold, and quiet. I think he/she might be dehydrated and exhausted due to stress caused by the bigger chicks.
I have Cheeper under a light to try and warm him/her up a little. Cheeper is still drinking a little water but not much. Is their any advice you can give me/ or something else I can do to help Cheeper? Really worried about him/her. Ty for any help. And Please don't be mean I'm still learning and won't make the same mistake twice. -Storm
UPDATE:
Could he be anemic? I just found a few mites, and fleas have been bad this year so far..
He is now having what looks to be seizures. Could the reason the other birds turned on him was they saw he was gitting sick?
UPDATE: Time is 5:25 am. I have been up all night with cheeper, he never really woke up after the first seizure. At 5: 15am he died. I need to know what may have caused it. I fear now for the rest of my flock.
He started spitting up liquid again only this time is was a brownish/ redish (I think because i'm half color blind) It smelled so bad I was sick.. Sour, Vial smelling. Any ideas?
