Recently almost all of my chickens are starting to "cough",i have been treating them with doxin-200 ws (100mg doxycycline hyclate,100mg tylosin tartrate)for the past 2 days and have been hoping that it's nothing serious. My idea of why my chickens are "coughing" is that i have a really big window(almost the entire wall)and the cold has been getting to them(it has been lower than -5 celcius/23 fahrenheit)could that be it ?im really worried that it's something more serious.

Below freezing temps plus a buildup of ammonia in a confined space, plus the presence of a CRD virus in your flock all add up to respiratory distress.

Many folks do not heat their coops even in below freezing temps. However, I have found that my chickens are healthier and more comfortable if I heat their coop to remain just above freezing. I also clean all the overnight poop out of the coop each morning, and ventilation is good.

Stress from different sources is what usually sets off the respiratory illness. You're doing well treating it as you are. If your coop accumulates poop droppings, cleaning that up would go a long way toward making your chickens more comfortable and able to recover. Heating the coop to raise the temp to above freezing can give your chickens a recovery boost, too.
