Sick Duck- Could it be salmonellosis?

The vet seemed to think her behaviour is caused by a bacterial infection...but then I wonder why the antibiotics seem to be ineffective. Correct me if I'm wrong, but from what I understand enterococcus is many different forms of bacterial infection. The antibiotics should have worked by now, should they not?
I also have Opal on niacin, to no avail.

Any other suggestions?
Enterococcus is a type of bacteria, but the are many other types. Did the vet do and testing? I think you need to call the vet back and see about trying different drugs, like maybe Baytril.

If it's some sort of bacteria causing the symptoms, wouldn't it be from one that produces a neurotoxin? Like botulism? Aflatoxin from grain?
Anyways, hopefully one of the people tagged above have experience.....
Do you have any experience dealing with Aflatoxosis? I'm wondering if it is caused by aflatoxins from old straw bales I have sitting it the yard. If that's the case, I've read online that it just has to work its way out of her system and could take a long time. That could explain why the antibiotics aren't working and why she has been I'll for so long. I'm going to call the vet today and get their opinion.

Tetracyline doesn't treat many of the bacteria they can get, and for it to work properly on the bacteria it does treat, the animal has to get the correct dose.

Did your vet give you the tetracyline?

If you're putting the tetracyline in the water there is a very good chance your duck is not getting enough medication. It's also possible that the medication could be reacting to the water if your water is hard, but don't quote me on that.

Call your vet and ask the questions about nutritional deficiencies, Aflatoxins, mycotoxins, and all the types of bacteria and diseases that could cause the symptoms your duck has.

Aflatoxin is produced in corn, so unless your straw is from corn I wouldn't think you could get sick from it. Vomitoxin is from wheat. But it will just make humans, cattle, horses vomit. Not lethal. However I don't know what it does to ducks. Aflatoxin can definitely be lethal.
Also, if it is from any of the above toxins antibiotics will not work. It has to be flushed or the duck has to eliminate it on its own.

I was thinking an excess of nutrition- maybe even salt toxicity? I saw a parrot that had very similar symptoms due to brain swelling from being fed nothing but salted peanuts for a week.
What are you feeding your duck that makes you think it is a salt toxicity? I am assuming that you are feeding her an All Flock Feed or a duck feed of some sort, correct? In your 1st post you state I currently give her a small pinch of Sulfa-vitamin powder mixed in about 500ml of water, with electrolytes and for probiotics I mix in the poop from one of my healthy ducks (as recommended by the vet). She is still eating and drinking on her own.
Do antibiotics have large amounts of sodium/salt? How much salt does the Sulfa vitamin have? or in the electrolytes? Does she have access to water with no supplements? Just tossing around some questions to get a clear understanding.

Also, have you had a chance to call and talk to the vet?
