Sick Duck- Could it be salmonellosis?

I spoke to the vet, for the fourth time, yesterday. He told me to take her off the antibiotics because if they were going to help, they should have by now. He was unsure of what else I could do at this point. I am going to continue giving her the vitamins, electrolytes and probiotics. She eat on her own (grower feed- from the feed store). Her balance seems to be getting worse. She now flips about in the small kennel occasionally. She wasn't doing that before. I'm hoping that now that she is off the antibiotics the diarrhea will go away and maybe her overall health will improve and she can fight what ever is affecting her balance.

Call your vet back and ask if they can do a gram stain and culture of her poop. There are lots of bacteria that tetracyline doesn't treat. If the vet won't do this, please find another vet.

I strongly think it's diet related...What do you feed?..Lacks in balanced calcium and phosphorous ..Sorry this is happening..Stop the electrolytes and probiotics..Poultry vitamins are good ...

Just from a curious standpoint, if the duck has been on tetracycline why would it benefit the duck to quit taking probiotics?
