Sick goose

Yes, I still give her brewer's yeast mixed in her mush every day. She also likes cabbage leaves. Her poop smells cabbagey! Maybe the gas is giving her a lift?

Goose is standing up a lot now and boy is she noisy! Unfortunately we already have another wind storm and with all the noise the trees are making, the other geese might not hear her at all. She'll have to wait for the winds to calm down before I can let her outside. These gusts would just topple her over. Poor thing.

What's up with all these winds? Weather going crazy... we even got some lightning and that hardly ever happens...

Seems the weather all over the country has been crazy. Happy to hear she is standing up more next comes walking with out falling over.

Noisy is right mine always have to have something to say. And it's usually loud too. I hope she gets to visit her friends soon.

We had a warm, sunny day and I decided to let the goose outside next to the fence with the others. Outsider seemed all excited about her and followed her up and down the fence line. Looked kind of cute, so I thought, opened the fence and enticed her to go in. Well, she got kind of rough handled but I thought, that might be a goose kind of way. The others finally lost interest and went on. Looked promising until about an hour later they all came back and the patient started to struggle on her belly so I took her out. She cleaned herself for hours and showed no more interest for the others and would not even call them. She even put herself back into the sun room.

So today, I opened the door and called her outside, She looked at me like saying, I am not going out there! I left the door open, thinking she might sneak out when I am not looking, but no, she played sack hound.

She is probably sore from walking too much yesterday. It'll take some time to reintroduce her.

Come to think of it, Outsider got insured last year. He must have tried to fly out of the temporary coral and did not make it all the way over the netting and got all tangled up while the others were pulling on him. Would not doubt that Gus tried to chase him out.

Took a long separation time and a gradual reintroduction.

Could be that my patient got chased into a tight corner and insured the bill. I'll never know, but... I am not so positive anymore, that this is a female.

I took some pictures but for some reason my phone will not upload to the forum. I'll ask my son for help.

He/she is up walking around some now? that's good news. Sounds like progress is being made anyway. Thanks for updating and hope eventually it can be back with the flock soon but if a gander he probably won't be welcomed with open wings. At least till mating season is over. Kitty all healed and not wearing cone any more?

Yes Kitty is fine. Vet did an excellent job stitching the tail. Didn't expect to see stitches so close together. Luckily a tuft of fur was left at the end, or it could be confused with a giant rat tail.

Goose is in no hurry to go outside. Door is open since this morning. I called her out several times but she seems to be o.k. staying in....

A guy came by today and wanted a few goose eggs to try and incubate. I actually managed to steal four eggs out of the big nest. Still no sitting goose.

Looks like spring is just around the corner here, what could be better?
