Sick hen please help!!!

Okay so this is my second hen to do this and I don't know what is wrong. She has something running out of her eye and nose it is almost as if it were drool. But all she does is squat down and sound like she is constantly luring like a cat. That was yesterday. And today the same thing but her eye is swelled shut. What do I do? Should I quarantine her?

yes, isolate her. did you recently bring a new chick in? it sounds like what my chickens have MG . its not good news if thats what it is.

Well I have lost one hen already. What can I do for her

Welcome to BYC. It sounds like a respiratory disease such as MG, coryza, or others. It is contagious, so I would separate her, and either cull her from your flock or treat with Tylan 50 injectable antibiotic as a shot into the breast muscle once a day for 3 days. All birds exposed can be carriers, and the antibiotic may get rid of wymptoms, but the disease will not be cured. Whenever a bird gets stressed it can come back. And this one that is dying now came from another farm the one I had had already died last Wednesday and I brought these new ones in Friday night

so, it works pretty fast and it is heartbreaking. how many do you have? i chose to treat because i have over 100 and they are just for me, no other reason. but one day i will cull them all, disinfect and start over with clean hens. it is tylan to treat or deneguard and deneguard to prevent monthly for mg. i believe corzya is the same but it was recommended to cull for that one. the difference you may see or should i say, smell. corzya stinks
