Sick Hen

[Unpenned Hen]

My 2 year old golden comet has something wrong with her, she can't walk very well, when she tries to walk she falls forward and she can't stand up all the way. She is also very lethargic, and she keeps her feathers fluffed. I don't know what is wrong with her. Help!

need more info..please answer all the questions.

what all do you feed your chickens?
describe her droppings..color and consistency..
how old is the hen?
is she eating and drinking?

when did she last lay an egg?

has she been wormed? if so, when? and what was used?

check the crop...check at roost time..it should feel full..(if she's eating)..
then recheck in the morning..it should feel empty, or flat..
feel for any lumps or grainy feeling..
describe how it feels..hard, soft and squishy..
check for any sour odor.
(if you don't know where the crop is..it's near the bottom of the neck, top of the breast, slightly to the hen's right..it feels like a sac.)

listen for any wheezing or breath sounds.
check for wet or swollen eyes.

check the bottoms of the feet for any sores or scabs..also between toes.

what are the hen's living conditions? (coop/bedding/roosts/pen)?
how many chickens do you have?
do you have a rooster?

do you have any poultry vitamins on hand?
if not..you can get some Poly-vi-sol liquid baby vitamins..Enfamil brand if possible,,no iron..
give 2 drops once a day on beak for a week..then taper off for a week..
in the meantime, try and get some poultry vitamins.
