Sick hen

Update on my hen..she is eating some feed and some scrabbled egg. Still not pooping much. Crop almost went all the way down last night. Still giving her Kerif and started probiotics in her water. Since I don't know for sure if she just has sour crop or egg bound. Just treating her for sour crop. Worried if no antibiotics are given she will get an infection if she was egg bound but wont this make her sour crop worse??? Please reply if anyone can give me some ideas..Thanks in advance!!!
With egg binding if not treated, they don't live long. Is she walking funny?

She really isn't walking much just sits there mostly. I have her in a cage but she has plenty of room to move around but she just sits there and really doesn't walk around much at all..

Have you given her the calcium or tums tablet in case it is a egg binding issue? Did you do a cloacal exam to feel for an egg? Is she eating/drinking? What does her poop look like? With egg binding there is usually no poop or very little as the egg binding interferes with the ability to poop.

Her crop going down is good.

Yes I did give her a piece of the tums yesterday. I felt for an egg but I am unexperienced at that but I didn't feel anything. She is drinking allot of water but not very interested in eating but I have gotten her to eat some scrabbled eggs twice today and she is eating some feed on her own. She is not pooping much but she just did a minute ago and it looked more normal not just water it is more solid than yesterday.

This is good, keep encouraging her to eat.

Just curious as to whether she could be broody, while this does not explain some symptoms,it does explain her sitting and not moving much. Does she growl or make funny noises,is she fluffed out? This is probably not the issue, but mentioning it just in case it could be a factor.

Well her poop does smell like broody hen poop. I just got worried due to all the clear mucus that just poured out of her vent when I picked her up yesterday. That is when I brought her in that is why I was worried and egg broke inside her..

She isn't growling really but doesn't like being picked up right now very much.

Does she appear fluffed out and make strange noises,is she sitting in her cage and not wanting to move? Are you familiar with how a broody hen acts? My silkie hens are broody all the time, they just sit in nest and growl at me when i pull them out. I usually break my broody hens from being broody.

The runny liquid could be from her just drinking and not eating much.

Just keep an eye on her, encourage eating. Maybe she is broody which would be a good thing compared to anything else.

Yes I am familiar with with a broody hen for sure...lol..but would the liquid but thick mucus from drinking allot of water? She usually stays in the house and won't come out when she is broody but hasn't been doing that lately..
