My 13 year old is in 7th grade and is a student mentor for a student born with a syndrome. She spends lunch with him and watches over him. He also has an adult student aide that helps him. I know if anyone said anything mean about him or to him my DD would punch their lights out! LOL! Unfortunately we had some bully issues last year with my 8 yr old who has aspergers. She was in 2nd grade last year and we dealt with it swiftly and the kids were in serious trouble.... I had a conference with her teacher right after school started this year to make sure that an extra eye would be kept out for her as it mainly happens on the play ground. She sits in the front row right in front of the teacher and is watched closely. So far no problems. But if I ever found out she was being tormented and it was not dealt with I would pull her from school and homeschool.... I am at the school almost daily as is my best friend who's kids go there (she is also pres. of the PTA and knows everyone!). We are also co-leaders of our girl scout troop which has 2nd and 3rd grade girls and then our cadets which are 7th grade. They all tend to look out for each other.

Sorry this is winded. I hate very few things in this world, but if there is one thing I cannot stand is a bully!! Oh also wanted to add that my 13 yr old's math teacher last year was a big time bully and control freak. My DD is pretty shy when it comes to being the center of attention and this "teacher" made her stand at the front of the class and CALL ME on the teachers cell phone to tell me that she was getting a "0" for a homework grade because she didn't get her test signed....this was a test she got a 97% on!!!!! It's not like she flunked it! Arghhhh!!!! I told DD not to worry and I would deal with it....In about 10 min. I was at the school and having a sit down with the principle and was taking my formal complaint against the teacher... I didn't receive any more calls from her the rest of the year.... She is a straight A student who has been in gifted classes since 1st grade. She was mortified to say the least.

Thanks for starting this thread.

I used to get a lot of hard times from those odd few... nowadays the kids have settled down, you know how senior school is, the mean kids starts to see the weirdos as perhaps being people inside as well. They grow up too. Just keep going through it, anyone out there who's experiencing bullying. There are others out here.

Either the world has a lot less people getting bullied or people are embaraced to post?
if you are embarrased dont be, everyone here has been bullied or has seen someone getting bullied and has hated it.

People sometimes make fun of me because I'm so small. I'm really short, and skinny, but it sure helps with gymnastics, though.

I get made fun of for being the exact oposit i am tall and fat. I guess it helps with making people stop bullying because they think i will crush them.
