How can I know if my pet pekin duck has avian botulism? We have a male and a female. They are together 24/7 and do everything together. The female has had some sezure like episodes that are very similar to some videos I've seen of a duck with botulism. The male is fine. They eat dry poultry food and we give them fresh fruits and veggies and some grain. We have small kiddie pools for them that get changed daily, the hay in their house they stay in at night gets changed every day, do I'm wondering how she would have gotten botulism. What could cause it or could it be something else

She may have eaten moldy, spoiled feed. Could you take her to a vet?

We have. She had a few of what I thought were choking episodes, and they did x-rays and nothing showed up, plus did blood work and a stool sample. Nothing in stool sample, but blood work showed low white blood cell count which he said was from an infection and put her on a 20 day antibiotic. She had a few spells while on it and maybe a week after she was done she did seem to purl up and feel better, but still has some limp neck, botulism like seizures or episodes. She had one while we were gone and I came home to find her almost drowned in her kiddie pool. We thought it could be heat strokes because she gets really hot and pants during this. We keep her out of the sun, they have plenty of fresh water and we have a fan blowing on them. We notice her spells happen after she eats, but not everytime and different food. It's almost like she can't digest it sometimes....
The vet seems to think she is ok, but I know better. This is an exotic animal vet, so I thought he would know what he is doing, but he seldom returns my calls and it is not local so not convient to go to.

Have you tried giving her poultry vitamins daily?

We have started them on the vitamin supplement called electrolyte. Not getting any call back from our vet, and I'm not sure if it's ok for our healthy make duck too. It says to maybe use along with a probiotic, but I know very little about what to do or not to do.
Thank you for responding....

Electrolytes and vitamins are two different things.
