I would worm with Albendazole, then treat with metronidazole for 5 days while running vitamin-probiotic powder in water, then worm again on the 10th day after the first deworming. If left in that condition too long, the liver will be gone and the bird will die.Michael, do you think the OP should bother treating for coccidiosis with Corid?
Valbazen is Albendazole, and can be found at most livestock feed stores. Metronidazole is sometimes available as Fish-Zole in a 250 mg capsule form at stores which stock fish/aquarium supplies. The only other option is a vet, or pigeon supply company. ordering online would take too long unless you were willing to do an overnight shipment. If you want to order a package 1 to 2 day shipping, I can give you recommendations depending on where you live.Alright, I'll look for the medication as soon as possible. Can you get those medications at a local pet store?
I have the links listed in post 8 for these medicines, both Fish Zole (metronidazole) and Valbazen. Call around to feed stores and tropical fish stores or pet stores to find them locally. As I said before, SafeGuard goat wormer can also be used instead of Valbazen, but the dosage is 1 ml given for 3 straight days, then repeated at 10 days.Alright, I'll look for the medication as soon as possible. If she has blackhead she needs the Fish Zole ASAP, and there is a very good chance she will also need something to treat E.coli.and the Fish Zole will help with the chickens?
