sick rooster, help!

Honest to God-holding him down for a little while wouldn't kill him. He had something going on.
Why would he have all that fluid in his crop? Has he been drinking a lot of water and not eating?

But honestly-if he were in that bad of shape it's doubtful he was going to make it.

macadamia was a wonderful roo. he'd sit on my lap for half an hour, every day. he protected his hens. he was a dark brahma that monstered around the run like a trex. he loved fruit.

my wife and i loved him.

rip.

i feel absolutely awful right now.

They can have a lot going on before they outwardly look sick, too. There's always the possibility he got bit or stung by something, too.

in our run, doubtful. i don't know. he was a sweetheart. the hens will miss him, as will mo the cat. and us.

i don't know why so much fluid poured out of him. i don't know how that killed him, either. poor guy.

thank you for your help. it's appreciated. i'm a little bit distraught, but he had a good (tho short) life. he was my lap chicken, and it's all so sudden (both his looking sick, and most especially his death) that i can't even get my head around it.

we buried him under a young fig tree.

I feel awful. There was another thread about Limberneck that sounded similar to your boy. Except for the gurgling sounds.
I got a 2 mo old chick in the mail today that I'd waited 2 wks for her to send. And he was dead

So your roo will have good company up there. Maybe they won't be so lonely if they have each other.
